Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is one of my favourite RPG's (if not game outright) of all time. The witty dialogue, the diversity of its many characters, the world-building sidequests, and the tongue-in-cheek playing around of it's own mechanics are all parts of what make this masterpiece so great. If you haven't played this game, or at least watched a Let's Play, I strongly recommend it.
lyrics
CHORUS
I'm a star, I'm king of the stage!
I'm boss, something of a mage!
Cast a spell, bewitch and snitch with a
Cloak and dagger, a bait and switch
You mad that the price was costly?
Should'a thought that before you crossed me
'Cause I build my strength off the fear of the people
Open the door and step into my steeple
VERSE 1
What's a couple a' slicks doin' here, crashin' my me-time?
Tryin' a pick a fight, slapdashin' a mean crime?
Go on, scram, or I'll beat you with sweet rhyme
Ain't in a klan, still i'm wearin' a sheet (*chime*)
Yeah, I did it. Go cry to your mammy, like the
T-Town villagers, dreary and clammy
They hate cause they ain't and so they go an' slam me
I always thought their reactions were hammy
'Cause they're pigs! Hoo! I'm a genius!
You got a problem? Wrote a whole thesis?
Slick, you don't stand a lick of a chance in my manse.
My glance is gonna put you in a trance
So dance, kid. 'n' Don't try to backtrack
When you can't fight back my special attack
Got your nose, body, your name, and style
Got a Place to be, buddy. Think I'll be a while.
C'mon!
(CHORUS)
VERSE 2
Oh Hey,
Look who picked himself off the brick ground
Should'a kicked ya' maybe while you we're still down.
Seems Slick's got a brand new chick now.
Ain't sick a' this face, though it's a bit round.
Now watch me turn all your friends into your enemies
Done this prank a dozen times; It's easy!
Will the real Super Mario please stand up,
please stand up, can't stand up to the
Master of Mystery, Maker of misery, writer of
History, Theif- uhhhhhhhh ..."It's-a me Mario!"
As far as your friends know. Even your
Goomba girlfriend couldn't figure it out, bro.
Try an' land a blow, but you know I got thick skin
Try an' play a game, guess my name. Maybe 'Stiltskin.
Missin' something? Possibly, perchance,
A puzzle piece prerequsite, providing pertinence?
C'mon!
